(SPRING 2015) In August 2014, Rogers High School principal James Nelson stepped down to resume classroom teaching near his hometown of Cranston. A search was made, many candidates were interviewed and the lucky winner was Mr. Jeff Goss.
Goss is a 1991 graduate of Springfield College, where he played baseball for 4 years. After graduation, he worked for the Pawtucket Red Sox from 1991 to 1994. In 1997, Goss earned a Masters of Art in teaching form Johnson & Wales University.
Goss started his teaching career in 1997, teaching business and computer courses at Portsmouth High School; in addition, he coached freshman football and girls basketball.
In 2004, Goss was named assistant principal at Portsmouth High. In 2014, Goss was named principal of Gilbert Stuart Middle School in Providence. He also worked as a principal on special assignment at Mount Pleasant High School and as assistant principal at Classical High School for the 2013-2014 school year.
